​Engine & Performance:

​

  • Yanmar 4JHE, 44 hp diesel engine (Serial #03548)

  • Estimated engine lifespan: 9,000–12,000 hours

  • Max RPM: 3600; optimal cruising RPM: 2700

  • Fuel burn rate:

    • 1.5 gallons/hour at 2700 RPM (approx. 6 nautical miles per gallon)

    • 1 gallon/hour at 2100 RPM

  • Use FPPF Marine Formula for fuel treatment

  • Engine oil: Rotella T 15/40 (oil can be added via both yellow caps)

  • Do not run engine without load (e.g., for refrigeration)

​Fuel & Water Systems:

​

  • Fuel priming: remove T-handle, fill unit with fuel, coat gasket, replace T-handle hand-tight

  • Fuel filter operation:

    • Point down = both off

    • Left off = bow-pointing

    • Right off = stern-pointing

  • Fuel filters to be replaced every 500 hours

  • To drain water from fuel: collect and observe until fuel appears, then reprime

  • Fuel Tanks:

    • Tank 1 (forward): 67 gallons (water)

    • Tank 2 (bilge): 34 gallons

    • Tank 3 (port): 39 gallons

    • Tank 4 (port fuel): 79 gallons (60 gallons usable)

  • Water tank vents into bilge

Other Operational Notes:

  • Run at 3600 RPM once per trip; 3750 RPM maximum

  • To start engine: engage gear (do not run in neutral), use start/kill button labeled “FIRST START-KILL BUTTON,” then crank

  • Refrigeration: Adler Barbour, functional on shore power

  • Carry 7mm nut driver and new clamps for maintenance

  • Use only green antifreeze—do not mix with red
